The Charity Series of Poker is back at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino this Friday giving anyone a chance to play against celebrities and poker pros, all to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

The $280 + $20 rebuy event is open to everyone and will feature Twilight's Ashley M. Greene, CSI: Miami's Omar Miller plus film actors Mekhi Phifer and Sasha Barrese.

The list of poker pros confirmed to play includes Loni Harwood, Anthony Zinno, Allen Kessler, Marvin Rettenmaier, Shannon Shorr and many more.

$140 from every buy-in goes to the prize pool while the other $140 is split evenly between Habitat of Broward County and Habitat for Humanity International.

The event will also feature $27,000 in added cash and prizes.

This latest CSOP event takes place the night before the Seminole Hard Rock's massive $5k buy-in, $5 million Guaranteed championship event, making it a no-brainer for poker players who are already on location.

Matt Stout is the Charity Series of Poker's Founder and President and he said this event is especially important to him.

“Our inaugural event at the Planet Hollywood in Vegas and our annual event at the Borgata also mean a lot to me, but the way Hard Rock gets behind us for this event can't be matched,” he said.

“Habitat was the first charity I ever got involved with when I was 17 so both organizations hold a special place in my heart which makes this my favorite CSOP event of the year.”

Stout also hopes this event will continue the upward trend the CSOP has been experiencing since he founded it in

“We went from raising $14,605 in year 1 with our inaugural event in Vegas to raising $42,000 this year and it's an amazing sign for the future of the CSOP,” said Stout.

$27k in Added Prizes at CSOP Tourney and Pre-Party

In addition to the prize pool raised by the players, the CSOP and Seminole Hard Rock are putting up $27,000 in extra cash and prizes.

The prizes include a buy-in to the $5k SHRPO Championship the following day, two poker trips to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, tons of sports memorabilia and two $1,000 bonuses, one to the chip leader at the end of the rebuy period and one to the person who rebuys the most times.

$5,000 of the added prizes will be given out at the pre-party which runs from 5-7pm at the Seminole Hard Rock's L-Bar.

Matt Stout said the credit for this event's special added prizes goes to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino which stepped up in a big way to help make this event a success.

“The Hard Rock has really gone above and beyond to use the CSOP to mark the beginning of the SHRPO main events,” said Stout.

“We run it the night before their biggest $5k main event of the year in order to give traveling pros as well as local poker players and Habitat supporters an opportunity to join in the fun.

“In addition to playing for half of the prize pool, players get an opportunity to have a few drinks with celebrities and win some of the prizes and bonuses that are being added by CSOP and Hard Rock not only in the tournament but during the open bar pre-party that is open to all players who've registered for the tournament.”
