American Scott Seiver leapfrogged Germany's Ole Schemion this week to become just the ninth player in the GPI's history to reach #1 in the GPI300.
After six of the past seven weeks at #2 Seiver's accumulated score finally tipped over Schemion's as some of the German's results moved into an older scoring period.
At 3,915.96 Seiver is - at least temporarily - about 25 points clear of Schemion's 3,891.79.
Schemion's 18 weeks at the top of the rankings is, however, a GPI record - one week longer than Jason Mercier's reign at the top in 2013.
Kitai Climbs, Monte Carlo in Play
While Schemion and Seiver flip-flopped at the top of the rankings they're still, along with Belgian Davidi Kitai, more or less in a dead heat.
Kitai's 3,862.20 is only marginally behind Schemion and with all three in attendance at the EPT Grand Final in Monaco this week the rankings will likely change again.
Pratyush Buddiga and Byron Kaverman round out the current Top 5.
Poland's Dzmitry Urbanovich, who won an astounding four events at EPT Malta last month, is the current leader for the 2015 GPI Player of the Year.
