Brooklyn's Asher Conniff, who misclicked his way into the satellite that earned him his seat in the event, is now the 2015 WPT champ and $973,683 richer.
As Conniff relayed to the WPT team he was actually just trying to play a Sunday major online but misclicked into the WPT satellite.
Once he was in the event, though, he made the most of it as he sat near the top of the chip counts for much of the tournament.
By the time play was five-handed Conniff had 50% of the chips in play and rolled to the title from there, entering heads-up with a 5-1 advantage over Russian Alexander Lakhov.
He needed just 13 hands to seal the deal, getting all the chips after his A6 held against Lakhov's 10-6.
Lakhov collected $573,779 - $450k more than what he earned for winning his WPT Cyprus title in 2014.
Mortensen Fourth, Dunst Sixth
Despite being the short stacks eyes were on both Tony Dunst and Carlos Mortensen when the final table started today.
Dunst was at his second straight WPT World Championship final table and hoping to ladder up much like he did last year.
The dream ended earlier this year, however, as his pocket kings couldn't fade Carlos Mortensen's 10s on hand #13 when a 10 hit the flop.
Mortensen, who was looking for his fourth career WPT title and second WPT Championship, could only use Dunst's chips to jump over Ray Qartomy to fourth.
Brian Yoon, who was next closest to Conniff five-handed, couldn't make up any ground and busted in third. The official final results and payouts:
