Coming off a third-place finish in the $100k Super High Roller earlier in the series Selbst is back in the driver's seat of another huge tournament with a seven-figure payday at the top.
Even more impressive it's the exact same tournament she won here last year, the $25k High Roller event.
With just 14 players left Selbst holds the chip lead with 1.63 million although several major obstacles remain before she can collect the $1.2m first-place prize.
Merson, Rettenmaier, Negreanu, Schemion All Still Alive
As expected in a $25k buy-in the remaining players are among the best of the best. Just off of Selbst's pace is Joao Vieira at 1.60m, followed closely by 2012 WSOP Main Event champ Greg Merson with 1.1m to end Day 2.
Also crossing the 1m chip mark was German Marvin Rettenmaier, who bagged 1,014,000. After dusting off $300k in buy-ins in the Super High Roller Daniel Negreanu is back in contention with a 723k stack to start today.
GPI Player of the Year Ole Schemion, Rob Mizrachi, Dani Stern, Dan Smith and UK businessman Paul Newey will also return to play today. The final 14 and chip counts:
1. Vanessa Selbst 1,633,000 2. Joao Vieira 1,604,000 3. Myro Garcia 1,181,000 4. Greg Merson 1,112,000 5. Jacob Schindler 1,109,000 6. Marvin Rettenmaier 1,014,000 7. Rob Mizrachi 856,000 8.
