McDonald stormed through a rapid-fire Day 5 at the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and will enter the final table second in chips with 5.6 million.
The Canadian will have to overcome chip leader Estonian Madis Muur who finished with 6.2 million chips. McDonald spent much of the day as the chip leader but fell behind Muur in the last few hands.
McDonald was just 18 years old when he won his first EPT title in Dortmund way back in 2008.
It took little more than five hours to go from 20 players to a final table of eight.
Canada in Full Force at Final Table with Three Players
The final table is made up of several notable players including online master Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron, WSOP bracelet winner Pascal Lefrancois and Toronto-based massive online winner Shyam Srinivasan.
Former November Niner Antoine Saout, Grayson Ramage, Tom Hall and the controversial Roger Teska were among the 12 players who busted on Day 5.
