Any tips or suggestions for a future 3-Bet, feel free to post in the comments.Today in the 3-Bet we hit up a new FTP parody video plus two timeless classics from the poker music video genre to inspire fellow poker parodists out there.
1) The Donks Do the FTP Blues
You don't see a lot of blues and poker mashups, so hats off to The Donks for thinking outside the typical poker/rap frame.
And for making a timely, news-driven parody.
Despite it ostensibly being "for all the fellow donkeys who got ripped off by those bastards at Full Tilt Poker" it's hard to imagine this bringing any solace to someone with five-figures stuck online though.
Or people who enjoy the blues.
Still, excellent use of the up-down slideshow graphic. And the heaviest symbolic use of a Full Tilt Poker keychain ever.
2) Poker Poker Poker
Still the bar-setter for the poker-country music mashup, Dutchman Marcel Luske didn't just make a one-off poker track - he actually made an entire poker-inspired album.
Called "More Than Just a Game," Luske put his own money on the line (with the help of PokerStars) to make his dream of an album a reality.
Strangely enough, his hit "Poker Poker Poker" isn't on it - even though it's everything a poker song should be.
Cowboys, sepia tone, poker rhymes, mandatory all-in reference. Call, fold, raise, bluff mentions - check. Also, sassy dialogue.
Five years later, it's still as heartwarming as it was the day it came out.
3) Waiting For The River
What E-ISME, the writer/performer of "Waiting For The River," has figured out that most poker songwriters haven't is that nothing enhances poker bad beats set to music better than a superimposed dancing clown.
Who is also sometimes the dealer.
Possibly the only poker/electronica/rock/metal crossover ever made, E-ISME makes sure the unsung heros of poker - the specific cards themselves - get their due.
Based on two actual real-life hands, the A♠, K♣, J♦, 2♦, 2♣, J♥, 9♦, T♦ and all the threes in the deck get shoutouts.
When that three on the river comes ... well, you know he was waiting for it.
