The Helsinki-native is showing no signs of slowing down as we approach the end of the year and added over $100k to his already immense bankroll on the site.
Sahamies fired off 935 hands $50/$100 6-Max Pot-Limit Omaha last night and snagged some huge pots from VietRussian, Ville Wahlbeck and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.
By the time Sahamies finally called it quits for the evening he had won a total of $131k, which boosts his overall profit to $2.497 million. Sahamies is officially just $3,000 away from hitting the $2.5 million milestone on PokerStars.
It’s an especially impressive achievement for Sahamies considering he was down nearly $1 million on PokerStars during the summer.
To put things in perspective, Rafi Amit is the second biggest winner of the year with $2.1 million in profit but has his work cut out for him if wants a legitimate shot at passing Sahamies.
Of course neither player is likely to catch Gus Hansen who spun up $3.9 million on Full Tilt Poker before the events of Black Friday. Whether Hansen will ever be able to collect that cash is another story, however.
Meanwhile Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser was technically the biggest winner on PokerStars last night, just edging Sahamies with $132k in profit.
The Swiss pro has been very strong on PokerStars last night and now has $1.1 million in online poker profit this year.
1II|1II|1iI| (+$113k), bernard-bb (+$105k) and mTw-DaviN (+$102k) also made their way into the top five winners last night.
On the other side was VietRussian, who’s had some problems lately, and certainly didn’t help do himself any favors by losing $173k.
VietRussian has lost a total of $697k on PokerStars, which places him in the top 10 biggest losers on the site this year.
He wasn’t the only one to lose big, however, as L0ve2playU (-$115k), Dimedroll (-$104k), V. Wahlbeck (-$80k) and EireAbu (-$77k) all had miserable sessions.
