1) Moorman and Middy Take Down FTOPS Jerseys
Earlier this week we reported that online wizard Chris ‘Moorman1’ Moorman finally won his first FTOPS jersey and $21,250 during the FTOPS XXII extravaganza.
But were you aware that Moorman’s victory came just days after one of his soldiers Tom ‘hitthehole’ Middleton took down FTOPS Event 1?
The man known as ‘Middy’ outlasted 1,522 players to take home the first prize of $60,880, defeating a final table that included the world's number one online MTT-grinder Griffin ‘Flush_Entity’ Benger.
But really we're only bringing you this news because we need another excuse to watch the amazing ‘Moorman Soldiers’ video featuring Middy and Moorman.
2) PolloPopeye Wins Biggest Super Tuesday Ever; Combes Takes Second
The $1,050 Super Tuesday on Stars is THE tournament for the regs, and this week it saw the record attendance figures smashed for the fifth time in nine weeks. 663 players contributed to a prize pool of $663,000 and the top 81-places were guaranteed a prize.
Once again the boys from the UK had splendid showings with Charlie ‘JIZOINT’ Combes and the unknown UK-based Spanish player, Pollopopeye, outlasting the mob to take the top two spots, JIZOINT taking his last stand with A♦ T♣ only to run into the Pocket Aces of Pollopopeye.
Combes took $90,831,000 for second and Pollopopeye took the record-breaking first prize of $124,644.
3) Reece Lewis Wins WPT National Series London
There were a few eyebrows raised when the WPT decided to downgrade their London event to a National event, particularly on the back of the EPT London Poker Festival which would have boosted the event's field.
Nevertheless the decision was made and the event went ahead under the National Series umbrella.
218 players ponied up the £1,650 buy-in and the event went the way of the unknown British player Reece Lewis.
Lewis won the £80,000 top prize after outlasting a final table that included the veteran Carlo Citrone and Blackbelt Poker pro Kevin Williams.
