Williams could potentially win his second bracelet if he comes out on top of Event 7 but he’ll have to outlast Andy Bloch and Barry Greenstein to do it.
The Omaha-8 event drew some outstanding numbers yesterday and became the biggest O-8 on record.

Williams Leads Stacked $1.5 Seven-Card Stud Final Table
David Williams is the chip leader heading into the final eight of Event 7 $1,500 Seven-Card Stud but he’ll have to contend with Andy Bloch and Barry Greenstein.
Williams accumulated 493,500 chips on Day 2 of Event 7 but Bloch is second with 296,500 and Greenstein is third 254,000.
Interestingly Williams won his first bracelet in the same event in 2006.
Meanwhile Andy Bloch is widely considered to be one of the best poker players without a bracelet. He has eight WSOP final tables, two runner-up finishes and over $4.5 million in live tournament earnings.
Greenstein won his first bracelet in 2008 when he took down the $1,500 Seven-Card Razz for $157,643.
If one of those players can break through today it would be the first big name pro to win a bracelet at the 2012 WSOP. The final table begins at 2 p.m today.

Huge Field for Event 8 Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-Better
It’s been somewhat of a “soft” start here at the 2012 WSOP with no $1k No-Limit Hold’em events or $10k championship events for the first week but that didn’t keep a record-breaking field of 967 players from coming out for Event 8 Omaha-8 yesterday.
One of the more obscure poker variants, Omaha-8 appears to be gaining momentum amongst poker players.
Only 220 players made it through Day 1 and will attempt to secure a spot at the final table today.
Nikolai Yakovenko finished atop the chip counts with 61,600 but Raymond Davis, Todd Brunsonm Daniel Negreanu and Jeff Madsen are also in the mix.
The remaining players are competing for a prizepool of $1.3 million with $264,400 dedicated to first place.
