Liu Crushing Event 4, 1,500 Stud Hi-Lo
The 23 year-old Liu is the surprising chip leader after Day 2 of Event #4, $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, with just 23 players remaining.
An online specialist mostly known for her No-Limit Hold’em prowess, Liu has stacked her way to 330,500 and a solid chip lead as they head into Day 3 and the run for the bracelet tomorrow.
Liu leads a contingent of four women still in contention including Hall of Famers Linda Johnson and Marsha Waggoner plus Bonnie Rossi.
The top 10 in chips is literally stacked with pros including veteran Chris Tryba in second, Cory Zeidman in third, Chris Bjorin in fourth, Johnson in sixth, Frank Kassela in eighth and Owais Ahmed in ninth.
Also still in the field are notables Michael “The Grinder Mizrachi (11th), Jarred Ankenman (12th), Todd Brunson (13th), John Monnette (14th) and Mike Sexton (17th).
Action picks up again at 2 pm today at the Rio and they'll play down to a champion tonight.

They’ve hit the money in Event #5, $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em, with a couple of very familiar names atop the leaderboard heading into Day 2.

Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari bagged up a massive stack of 112,600 to lead the final 71 players into Day 2 action.
Just off Esfandiari’s shoulder is PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu, in fourth with 94,000 in chips and primed to make his first deep run of the 2012 WSOP.
Plenty of big names are still in contention however with Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar, Corey Burbick and Tommy Vedes all in the top 10.
Pros James Mackey, Terrence Chan, Nam Le, John Juanda, Toby Lewis and John Eames are also still alive.
Action resumes at 1 pm and will play down to a final table tonight.
