Manig Loeser continued Germany’s hot streak on the international poker circuit this week by winning WPT National Rozvadov in the Czech Republic.
Loeser outlasted all 374 entries in the €1,000 buy-in tournament at King’s Casino and beat Dutch pro Jeffrey Brouwer heads-up to earn $83,600.
While Loeser isn’t quite as established as German all-stars like George Danzer and Ole Schemion he is a renowned online player who was ranked #1 at certain points over the last few years.
Loeser Parlays Big Stack into WPT Title
Loeser entered the WPT Rozvadov final table as one of the chip leaders with 1.27m and successfully piloted that stack to an outright victory.
The victory moves Loeser to $1.55 million in life-time live tournament earnings, which places him 24th on the all-time German list. It’s not bad considering the number of quality players who hail from the country.
WPT Rozvadov was Loeser’s first major live tournament victory but he actually has bigger scores at the WSOP where he finished third in the 2014 $5,000 NLHE event for $288k and runner-up in the 2013 $1,500 6-Max event for $200k.
The WPT National Tour’s next event isn’t until Sept. 14 when it will go all the way South Korea for the Jeju Challenge.
Of course the WPT’s main tour will head to Las Angeles on Aug. 29 for the classic Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino.
