Daily 3-Bet: Negreanu Hero, Poker Superhuman, Sofia Saves a Whale

Today in the 3-Bet we find Daniel Negreanu designated a sporting hero, a game-changing Dutch "superhuman" and an underused tactic to keep a whale in the game.

1) Half Fisher, Half Chan

The poker world has, of course, trumpeted Daniel Negreanu as a hero for years. And never more so than last week during his scintillating near-miss run to the November Nine.

Widespread recognition outside of the poker world ... that's harder to come by. Although if anyone has penetrated the mainstream consciousness by now it's Negreanu (and the Phils).

So it was awesome to see Negreanu make the list of "Non-Major Sports Heroes" of the summer on ESPN's Grantland today.

Included along with the Russian Race Walking Team, Mick Fanning (the Australian who survived a shark attack) and an amazing crawling baby, it's no small feat either. It'll most certainly warm Alex Dreyfus' "sportify poker" heart, too.

Still, if you're a member of the Nov. 9, it has to be a little bit intriguing to think about learning how to control your autonomic nervous system. Or at least not get the Rio flu next summer.
