In today’s WSOP 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the inaugural Colossus final table, JRB vs. Doug Polk and some sad news about Eskimo Clark.
1) Henson, Hallaert Make Colossus Final Table
When you get 22,374 entries, of which a large portion are complete newbies to the WSOP, you don’t expect a particularly pro-heavy final table.
And you’d be correct in thinking that about the massive 2015 WSOP Colossus but there are a couple interesting exceptions.
Belgian Kenny Hallaert, also known on Twitter as SpaceyFCB, is second in chips with 18m.
Meanwhile Ray Henson has numerous WSOP cashes and even beat T.J. Cloutier in January to win a massive WSOP circuit event in Choctaw, Durant, for $197k.
Everyone is chasing East Coast grinder Aditya Prasetyo who has the overwhelming chip lead with 39 million.
The Colossus final table is being live streamed at 1:30 p.m. local time so be sure to check it out if you want to watch someone turn $565 into $638,880.
2) BrokeLivingJRB Gets Worst Draw in $10k HU
You tend to expect you’re gonna face some stone-cold killers in the $10k Heads-Up event at the WSOP that started yesterday.
You can’t get much worse than what Jean-Robert Bellande walked into yesterday, however:
Perfect. Before the draw, they laid me 12k vs my 10k on my 1st match. I drew world #1 @DougPolkPoker #brokebadluck pic.twitter.com/PR7HmP3T7R
— Jean-Robert Bellande (@BrokeLivingJRB) June 2, 2015...and I'm out. I'd have had an easier time playing tennis vs @RafaelNadal #instabroke
— Jean-Robert Bellande (@BrokeLivingJRB) June 2, 2015Polk is arguably the best NLHE HU player in the world and made short work of Bellande who admitted afterwards:
Polk went on to beat Andrew “LuckyChewy” Lichtenberger but couldn’t get past Connor Drinnan.
Here’s a look at the round of 16, which begins at 1 p.m. today:
Andy Philachack vs. Matthew Cooper
Tim Adams vs. Simon Lam
Paul Volpe vs. Barry Hutter
Isidro Sifuentes vs. George Danzer
Jake Schindler vs. Keith Lehr
Byron Kaverman vs. Vaeriu Coca
Olivier Busquet vs. JC Tran
Max Silver vs. Dee Tiller
3) Salsberg Inadvertently Confirms News of Eskimo Clark’s Death
There have been numerous rumors over the years that Eskimo Clark passed away.
Most were taken with a grain of salt considering the rugged nature of Clark but it appears a notice about Clark’s death that was posted last month on TwoPlusTwo was accurate.
The whole thing was exasperated yesterday when Matt Salsberg made an Eskimo Clark joke only to be told that Clark had died last month.
It was then Salsberg who had to break the news to the rest of the poker community who had no idea about Clark’s fate:
0 for 2 in wsop events. 1 for 1 in inadvertently being the conduit to the poker community re: Eskimo Clarks's death. #Ambassador #Gfy

Regardless, RIP Clark. We’ll miss the crazy stories and hope that you finally found your stake somewhere.
