Paur outlasted an elite final six that included proven tournament pros Isaac Baron, Jacob Bazeley, Faraz Jaka and Sorel Mizzi for his first career WPT title.

With the $1.2m first-place prize Paur boosts his career live earnings up over $2.7m and adds a WPT victory to his WSOP bracelet.

He also collected a $15,400 seat in the WPT World Championship, a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones and a Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Watch.

Another impressive showing for Baron.

The second stop on the WPT's California Swing Bay 101 has always proved to be a fan and player favorite and 2015 delivered as expected.

An impressive 708 entries were tallied for the Main Event to create a $5m prize pool.

Collecting the second-biggest share was another Californian in Isaac Baron, who finished runner-up.

Coming into the final table with the chip lead Baron held steady throughout the final table but slipped behind Paur 14m-6m when Paur busted Bazeley in third.

The edge proved too big to overcome. The heads-up match ended on just hand #9 when Baron hit top pair on the flop but Paur rivered a flush and the money went in.

Baron pocketed $704,300 for second; Bazeley earned $461,470.

The two biggest names and remaining Shooting Stars coming into the final table, Faraz Jaka and Sorel Mizzi, busted in fifth and fourth, respectively. Software engineer Ravee Methi finsihed sixth.

Complete results and payouts:

1. Taylor Paur - $1,214,200 2. Isaac Baron - $704,200 3. Jake Bazeley - $461,470 4. Sorel Mizzi - $310,060 5. Faraz Jaka - $216,320 6. Ravee Mathi - $168,260
