Taking place from May 15-25, 2015, the Grand Prix Million will have a total of nine Day 1s to help boost the prize pool.
Players will be able to enter as many Day 1s as they choose and then take the single biggest chip stack they are able to accumulate to Day 2.
Dusk Till Dawn Adding $25k in Extra Value with Golden Chips
In an interesting twist the first 1,000 players who register for the Grand Prix Million will receive a golden chip.
If one of the first 1,000 players makes it to the final table with a golden chip they will be able to cash it in for an additional $25,000 in prize money.
It’s not the first time that DTD has run a massive small buy-in tournament. The latest edition of the Grand Prix attracted 4,932 entries.
Of course the DTD Grand Prix Million still comes a little short of the $565 buy-in Colossus that the WSOP will be running this summer.
The Colossus will feature a staggering $5 million guarantee and awards a WSOP gold bracelet.
Small buy-in tournaments seem to be on the rise with the WPT500 and even PokerListings’ own Battle of Malta all becoming a regular part of the tournament landscape.
Qualifiers for the DTD Grand Prix Million have already started on Party Poker and they start at just $.01.
