Want something included in a future 3-Bet? Just let us know in the comments and we'll be happy to oblige.
Today in the 3-Bet we find Phil Hellmuth chanelling his inner baby for the TV cameras, the Global Poker Index and the Ivey League form a superpower allegiance and Poker Night in America brings the Corn Hole Challenge to the world.
1) Hellmuth in Baby Onesie Can't Be Unseen
Warning: Do not scroll or even glance slightly downward if you don't want an image of Phil Hellmuth dressed as a baby seared into your eyeballs for all eternity.
In BABY exit interview @phil_hellmuth said this costume ranks near the top of his favorites. @PokerNightTV pic.twitter.com/FnMEdNrwzi
— Chris Hanson (@thechrishanson) July 28, 2014Ostensibly the outfit, picked by Jessica Dawley, was the price for busting first in the Poker Night in America home game but the look on his face seems to suggest he was hardly being punished, does it?
2) Ivey League and GPI Join Forces, Hall of Justice Soon?
Two of the strongest forces in the poker sphere announced today that they've joined a "strategic alliance" to "jointly market and promote its players and the poker industry."
We don't know all that entails just yet but whenever two poker power players like Phil Ivey and Alexandre Dreyfus put their powers together we imagine something substantial and interesting will emerge.
First up will be some open Q&A sessions with select Ivey League Pros on The Hendon Mob Forum, they say, and some Ivey League promotions for GPI's Fantasy Poker Manager users.
Next up? Possible construction of a Superfriends Hall of Justice near our European headquarters in Malta, we hope. Either way Dreyfus is stoked:
“We are elated to be working with the biggest name in the game of poker,” he said in a release.
“We hope that this team will further highlight the game of poker and promote its players."
More info on the partnership here.
3) Poker Night in America Introduces Corn Hole Challenge
As we mentioned above the Poker Night in America crew is back in action filming a new cash-game session for its ongoing efforts to put TV poker back on the map. The stop this time is the Maryland Live! poker room, home to locals Greg Merson and Christian Harder among others.
Invitees to the two-day game this time around include Hellmuth, Greg Mueller, Brian Hastings, Merson, Russell Thomas, Tom Schneider and, apparently, a guy named Dump Truck Joe.
Sounds promising, to say the least. To pick seats they've also turned to some sort of local tradition called the Corn Hole Challenge, which we don't even really want to investigate further, just in case.
