“I probably wasn’t studying as hard as I should,” Lyndaker said about the downswing. “I think the heads-up players got a little better than me.”
Lyndaker got his start playing home games at 16 years old and went through many ups and downs online in his first few years playing seriously.
But by the end of 2007 Lyndaker had developed his game, moved up to the mid-stakes on PokerStars and was busy putting together a real bankroll.
In 2008 Lyndaker played his first World Series of Poker and scored a runner-up finish in a $5k No-Limit event for more than $570,000.
By the midway point in 2009 Lyndaker had hit $1 million in profits on Pokerstars.
Lyndaker continued to crush for the next couple years but when the US government shut down poker in America in 2011 he was forced to move from his home in New York in order to play online poker.
It didn't go well.
Between March of 2011 and November of 2012 Lyndaker's "nutsinho" account on PokerStars dropped over $1.4 million, according to hsdb.com.
Lyndaker Focusing on Live Cash and Tournaments at WSOP
“I’ve spent a decent amount of time overseas to play online,” Lyndaker said, “I was in Toronto, London, and Melbourne where I was playing.”
Since the end of 2011 there hasn't been much activity on the nutsinho account, but in recent years Lyndaker has been posting results playing live tournaments in the US.
In 2013 Lyndaker had two six-figure scores: a final table in the WSOP's $25k Six-Max event worth $178k and an outright win on the Heartland Poker Tour for $122k.
Lyndaker is hoping to keep that momentum rolling at this summer's World Series.
“I don’t know how many World Series tournaments I’ll play this summer,” Lyndaker said, “but obviously (the $25k Mix Max) is a big one and it would be nice to go deep.”
“I’ll be in all the $5k-plus No-Limit tournaments,” he continued. “So if I final table one of them I’ll be happy.”
But It’s not just the tournaments that brought Lyndaker to Vegas.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time in Vegas playing,” he said. “I think I’m going to play a lot of live cash and online cash now that WSOP.com has some decent action.”
