In today’s 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Jason Mercier taking flight, Jean-Robert Bellande winning big and a surprising interview with a man who won a ladies event.
1) Jason Mercier Gets to the Chopper
Photos of beaches and helicopters and complaints about €40 salads can only mean one thing: It’s nearly time for the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier isn’t above posting a baller chopper shot, as he proved on Instagram earlier today.
It’s understandable that Mercier sprang for the heli-ride considering last time he was in Monte Carlo he crushed the tables.
Mercier finished second in the $100k Super High Roller event for $1.4 million in addition to placing seventh in the Main Event for $179,642.
Of course Mercier is just one of the many PokerStars Pros expected in the tournament as big-name players Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree, ElkY and Jonathan Duhamel are all expected to play the massive event.
With the tournament starting later this week expect glamorous shots of Monaco to reach a fever pitch around the weekend.
2) BrokeLivingJRB Turns into Ballin’JRB
Is there a chance Jean-Robert Bellande might have to retire the “broke living” moniker in the near future?
According to the Instagram by Dan Bilzerian below it seems possible. Although Bilzerian was quick to throw a few chirps in the post he also mentioned that Bellande was cutting up his home game and had won the equivalent of 11 Bentleys.
Of course earlier this week Bellande posted a picture of Bentley with the license plate “BrokeJRB.”
Bellande also mentioned that he got to share a private flight with none other than former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.
Rough life.

— Jean-Robert Bellande (@BrokeLivingJRB) April 23, 20143) Man Who Won Ladies Event Likes… Ladies?
Bluff Magazine posted an interesting video interview today with Abraham Korotki, who won a ladies event at the Borgata in 2009.
Korotki got a lot of hate when he won the event, pretty understandably, but he makes some strong arguments in the new interview. Among them:
He donated part of his winnings Susan G. Komen for breast cancer awareness.
Poker isn’t a weight-lifting competition and he thinks female poker players are just as good as men.
He’s a “retired” ladies event player and doesn't play them anymore.
