An up-and-down day on the feature table for Katchalov saw him drop from second overall to 10th heading into tomorrow's play.

But even with his slide down the counts Katchalov still looked to have plenty left to push on to the final table and a possible completion of his Triple Crown.

British pro Kelly, meanwhile, surged his way up to fourth overall with 1.8 million in chips, trailing only chip leader Sotirios Koutoupas (2,695,000), Chun Ho Law (2,579,000) and Tatu Maenpaa (1,921,000).

Price, Heath and Goulder Steady for UK

Joining Katchalov and Kelly in the final 16 are a trio of Brits all looking for a career-defining score. Eli Heath (1,191,000), Oliver Price (1,275,000) and Alex Goulder (1,365,000) will all start the day with over 50 big blinds and plenty of ammunition to make a run for the final eight.

Florian Ribouchon (1,719,000), Alexandre Amiel (1,174,000) and Anthony Lerust (839,000) will carry the torch for the hometown French. The complete final 16 and chip counts:
