Got a tip for a future 3-Bet? Drop a link in the comments and we'll gladly take a look.

Today in the 3-Bet we find one of the many reasons behind Vanessa Selbst's incredible success in poker tournaments, revisit Doyle Brunson reflecting on the life of Chip Reese and high-stakes poker blowing up in Pittsburgh, of all places.

1) Selbst's Goals for 2014: Three FTs, EPT Title

Oh. So what the best players in the world do to become successful in life and poker is set goals then work hard to meet them?

Aim for something, then get it. Got it.

Negreanu's all over it. Mercier's giving it a go. David Williams is on board. Now another of the world's best players - Vanessa Selbst - says goals are the way to go, too.

In a new post on the PokerStars blog Selbst explains how she's not much for New Year's resolutions but is good with goal-setting - and, as you might expect, setting the bar high.

Among her goals for 2014:

Three major final tables EPT Main Event title (followed by Triple Crown) Balanced life with poker only when at her best Smile more

Easy peasy, right? Given her track record and ridiculous start to the year with TWO major final tables at the 2014 PCA alone, though, we'd take a pretty big bet on her hitting them all. Read the full post here.

2) Brunson on Reese: "Even in dying, he got dealt the nuts"

It's an old post floating around on some Twitter feeds today but after re-reading it we couldn't fight putting up a link and reminiscing a bit too.

Shortly after Chip Reese died Doyle Brunson wrote a piece for Poker Player UK recounting their friendship and some of the more legendary Reese stories from back in the day - including how they revolutionized baseball betting together.

Brunson: Reese had it all.

In short, if you're not tearing up at least a little by the end of it you're probably a horrible person. (We kid. A little.) An excerpt:

"We still play the Big Game in Bobby’s Room, but it’s not the same. It feels very sad to be in there without Chip. Sometimes I look at the big photo of him, hanging there on the wall, and I think about him sitting at the table with us, laughing, eating, betting it up.

"Right now I’m thinking about how he found the superior way to die: he went to sleep and didn’t awaken. What a great way to go. That’s typical Chip. Even in dying, he got dealt the nuts."

Go there, read it now.

3) Pittsburgh: Where the $25/$50 Action Is

So, who would have guessed Pittsburgh was a growing hot spot for big poker games?

We thought it was kind of interesting Poker Night in America picked Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh as one of its filming locations last year but, as it turns out, it's not so crazy after all.

According to local pro Jack Schanbacher, who talked to writer Mark Gruetzke at TribLive for a follow-up article, big buy-in games aren't that uncommon there:

“Poker in Pittsburgh is actually pretty big,” Schanbacher said. “There are some high-stakes games that go on in Pittsburgh that you don't find across the country. There are some wealthy guys that enjoy playing poker. We get some very big games.”

Schanbacher says $10/$25 and $25/$50 aren't uncommon which, we have to admit, is pretty big.

Along with events at Turning Stone in New York and the Peppermill in Reno footage from the Rivers Poker Night in America - which featured Greg Raymer, Joe Cada and Darvin Moon - is expected to be aired next year.
