Over the last three years Quoss has been a force on the poker circuit with over $2 million in tournament winnings but an outright win had eluded the Nuremberg native until today.
“It was good to see my friends win but it’s obviously nice to have the money and the title,” he said.
Quoss is part of a crew that includes high-stakes rockstars Philipp Gruissem and Igor Kurganov. He locked up $1.6 million for his massive victory in the PCA Super High Roller and rocketed to fourth place on the all-time list of German tournament winners.
Vanessa Selbst Implodes, Busts in Third Place to Quoss
For a period of time at the final table Vanessa Selbst appeared to be a lock to win yet another high-roller tournament in the Bahamas.
Selbst controlled the vast majority of chips when play reached three-handed against Dan Shak and Quoss. She also had a ton of momentum from eliminating Antonio Esfandiari in a huge coinflip.
Instead Selbst lost a massive pot with ace-king against Quoss when the German turned a straight. It was all downhill from there and she hit the rail in third.
The PokerStars Pro still has plenty of great memories at the PCA as she proposed to her wife there and last year won the $25k high roller for $1.4 million.
Selbst scored $760,640 for finishing in third place and now has just over nine million in lifetime tournament earnings.
Here are the complete results from the 2014 PCA $100k Super High Roller Final Table:

Tuesday also marked the first day of 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event with nearly 300 players jamming into the Atlantis Conference Center for Day 1a.
The field was stacked with pros as Jeff Madsen, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Vanessa Rousso, Lex Veldhuis, Noah Schwartz, Mickey Petersen and Rep Porter all took to the felt.
Perhaps the biggest story, however, was former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas who took part in his very first $10k poker tournament.
Arenas had played in a high-stakes cash game the night before but it wasn’t known if he would take part in the very publicized PCA Main Event.
In the end he decided to play and seemed to enjoy the atmosphere immensely as he chatted it up with the players at his table. Unfortunately he didn’t last more than three levels.
Arenas actually busted to overnight chip leader Dylan Hortin who then went on a massive heater that saw him finish with 160,500 chips.
Some of the other notable players with big stacks after Day 1a include Calvin “cal42688” Anderson (88,000), Max Silver (111,800) and Tim Ulmer (125,000). A total of 186 players survived the day.
Day 1b of the 2014 PCA begins tomorrow at noon at Atlantis Paradise Island.
