Running September 8-29 the 2013 WCOOP will feature a two-day $5,200 main event boasting a massive $8 million prize pool. That's $3 million more than we saw from the same event in 2012.

The main event will also guarantee at least $1.25 million for the winner.

12 events in total have seven-figure guarantees including a $10,300 High Roller with a $2 million guarantee.

Other highlights include a $10k Heads-Up High Roller, a $2,100 No-Limit event with a $2 million guarantee and a $362 Super-Knockout tournament which will put at least $1 million up for grabs.

Two-time WCOOP winner and Team PokerStars Pro Elky Grospellier is looking forward to posting big results this September.

“The World Championship of Online Poker is definitely the biggest online tournament series of the year,” said ElkY.

“My goal is to try and play as many events as possible and regain the overall leadership in bracelets. I think Dan Kelly has four, so I really would love to have five, but it’s a long way to go because I have two.”

Last year recreational player maratik from Russia qualified for the WCOOP main event with just 40 frequent player points and went on to win $1 million.

PokerStars is running qualifiers to the 2013 WCOOP online now.
