Ali Nejad and Olivier Busquet will both be in the commentary booth for the inaugural tournament in Florida.
Nejad is one of the most accomplished commentators in the history of poker. A former poker pro, Nejad was the off-screen announcer for NBC’s Poker After Dark and the color commentator for the National Heads-Up Championship.
The 35-year-old California native has also served as a correspondent for ESPN’s World Series of Poker coverage. Nejad currently hosts Road Trip on ESPNU.
Busquet Brings Elite Poker Experience to Commentary Booth
Busquet is one of the most feared poker players in the world and has a WPT title to his name.
He is an elite Sit & Go player in the online community with over $4 million in profit and once posted one of the most impressive graphs ever seen on TwoPlusTwo poker forum.
More recently Busquet has worked as a commentator at the World Series of Poker Main Event for ESPN, providing in-depth strategic analysis.
This marks the first time that Nejad and Busquet have worked together and they will be joining recently announced anchor Lynn Gilmartin.
The first $100k buy-in Alpha8 event is scheduled for Aug. 26-27 at Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida.
