Among them are some of the biggest names in poker, but none amassed a stack as big as amateur Maxx Coleman from Kansas, who topped the 1 million mark to take the overall chip lead.

With just a few small cashes in his live tournament career Coleman is living the poker dream right now and will have a few more hours to enjoy his moment in the sun before the pros get to work hunting him down.

Among them will be the Godfather of Poker, Doyle Brunson, who considered skippping the event altogether because of the long days, but has perservered to bag a top 35 stack.

Heading into the bubble day Brunson looks good to make his 35th career cash at the WSOP but he's still a long way shy of his 11th career bracelet.

Schwartz, Obrestad, Weisner, ElkY Circling

The mix of players left is pros and amateurs alike with several notables in the top half of the field.

Max Steinberg (987,500), Vladimir Geshkenbein (900,000), Kyle Julius (751,000) and Johannes Strassmann (725,000) are among the big stackers while former WSOPE Main Event Champ Annette Obrestad leads the female contingent with 564,000.

Ivey, Cates, Hellmuth, Galfond Among the Fallen

Phil Hellmuth
Bad day to be a Phil.

The list of the fallen is long and littered with notables including Phil Ivey, who was building well until a set-under-set nightmare with Steinberg bounced him to the rail.

Dan "Jungleman" Cates, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Galfond, Sam Holdem, Anthony Gregg, Liv Boeree and Johnny Chan were just a few of the other notables to join him, as was celeb Ray Romano, who did find some solace in his highest finish ever (video below).
