Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon rose to the top of the chip counts and will take an impressive 507,300 to Day 3.

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (394,600) and Survivor: China alumnus Jean-Robert Bellande (320,900) also made it into the top 10 counts.

A total of 2,306 players entered the day and by the end approximately 1,000 made it through.

Ivey and Hellmuth, thankfully for most poker fans, were two of them. Ivey carried 198,800 over into Day 3 while Hellmuth bagged just 49,000.

A scrappy Negreanu came into Day 2c with a short stack and a dream. Unfortunately they were both extinguished midway through the day.

Negreanu lost a coin flip with ace-king to pocket tens and that was it for his time at the Rio this year.

It was a productive summer for Negreanu as he cashed six times and finished runner-up in the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw event for $107,055 although the lack of a bracelet likely stings.

Sports Stars Roberto Luongo, Gerard Piqué Hit the Rail

Full Tilt Poker Professionals Tom Dwan and Gus Hansen both let their stacks blind down on Day 1c because they were too busy playing a massive $3,000-a-point OFC game at Aria.

They both returned to short stacks on Day 2c and busted in the early stages of the day.

It appears the OFC game went OK though, as they were all smiles as they left the Rio, taking pictures and signing autographs for fans.

Some of the other players to have their Main Event dreams dashed on Day 2c were Maria Ho, Brian Hastings, 2011 WSOP Player of the Year Ben Lamb, Sam Trickett and Dee Dozier.

The athletes playing the 2013 Main Event were hit particularly hard as NHL goaltender Roberto Luongo and footballers Gerard Piqué and John Carew all busted today.

Tomorrow will see the Day 2c survivors combine with Day 2A/B and for the first time the remaining players will all meet under the same roof.

Action resumes at noon tomorrow Las Vegas time. Check our 2013 WSOP Main Event live updates for continuing coverage.
