Former POY Schneider Hunts Bracelet #2, Rodawig Crushes

Schneider already has a bracelet in his pocket from a HORSE Event at the 2013 WSOP and another win would give him four total bracelets for his career.

In other action around the Rio Jason Duval won his first bracelet in Event #28, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em and bracelet winner Eric Rodawig crushed Day 1 of the $1,500 PLO-8 tourney.

Former POY Schneider is proving his 2007 run was no fluke as he's already on the brink of his second HORSE bracelet of the 2013 WSOP.

Just 28 players returned for Day 3 today but after 10 levels four still remained with Schneider well on top at 2.5m in chips.

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy, who finished third in the HORSE event Schneider won last week, is next with 680,000 while Greg "FBT" Mueller hung on with 140,000.

Big names eliminated today included Gus Hansen, Todd Brunson, Dan "djk123" Kelly, Marcel Luske and David Benyamine.

$318,955 is on the table for the winner. The final four and chip counts:

1. Tom Schneider 2,500,000 2. Viatcheslav Ortynskiy 680,000 3. Benjamin Scholl 600,000 4. Greg Mueller 140,000

Duval Wins First Gold in Event #29

Canadian Jason Duval locked down his first WSOP bracelet win and $521,202 after outlasting another huge field in Event #29, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.

Finishing Day 1 as the chip leader Duval managed to hold on all the way to the title, finally defeating Majid Yahyael in a two-hour heads-up battle for the win.

Day 2 chip leader Masayuki Nagata finished thrid while pro Dan "Wretchy" Martin busted in sixth.

TJ Cloutier, the poker legend who came into the day short-stacked, busted in 13th. The final nine and payouts:

Yosifov Leads Myers, Dombrowski in $1k

Just 13 players remain in Event #30, $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em, with Bulgarian Dimitar Yosifov leading the way. Yosifov bagged up 1,150,000 to take a solid advantage into Day 3 today over second-place Carter Myers with 818,000 and Chris Dombrowski in third with 643,000.

Winner will take home $346,332 along with the gold bracelet. The final 13 and chip counts:

Rodawig Crushes Day 1 of $1,500 PLO-8

Former bracelet winner Eric Rodawig looks dead set on winning another after a dominating Day 1 in Event #31, $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-or-Better.

Rodawig bagged a massive 154,800 for the overnight lead over Joao Simao (132,100) and Leif Force (118,200).

Plenty of big names are still bouncing around in the final 129 though including Kiril Gerasimov, Allen Cunnngham, Barry Greenstein, Jason Mercier and Mike Matusow.

Play picks up again tomorrow from the Rio at 1 pm and will aim for a final table.
