Scheduled for February 10-14, 2012, the Lucky Hearts Poker Open will feature a $3,500 buy-in and will give players a chance to re-enter the tournament on Day 1b should they be eliminated on the first Day 1 flight.
This addition puts two stops at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on the WPT’s Season X schedule, with the Hard Rock Poker Showdown playing out April 18-23.
Introduced just this past year, the Hard Rock Poker Showdown’s first incarnation drew 433 players and awarded $1.12 million to 22-year-old Taylor von Kriegenbergh. It was a $10,000 buy-in televised event.
While the Lucky Hearts Poker Open will not be televised, the final table will be streamed live on WPT.com with Tony Dunst and a yet to be announced special guest commentator talking us through the action.
Mike Sexton and the Royal Flush Girls are also slated to be in attendance, giving players a chance to kick back and enjoy a cocktail at the Royal Flush Girls Social Bar, a new feature on the World Poker Tour.
The WPT is kicking off 2012 with two European events, in Dublin and Venice, before heading to Florida in February and continuing on to the LA Poker Classic and the Bay 101 Shooting Star, both in California.
