Both players have performed a remarkable turnaround in the last few weeks.
Blom was obviously missing from the high stakes scene altogether for nearly three months but is now up over a $600k since he returned and $1 million in 2011.
Cochrane was the hottest player in the early stages of 2011 but dropped close to a million during late summer. Thanks to several hundred thousand in profit over the last few weeks he’s once again up to $1.1 million in profit on the year.
Last night the Englishman blazed his way through 2,243 hands of $25/$50 and $50/$100 6-Max Pot-Limit Omaha. The biggest pot Cochrane won was a $29k beast when he hit a full house against Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser and bernard-bb.
Other than that pot, Cochrane managed to fly under the radar, winning a series of small pots, before finally arriving at a huge profit of $125k.
Blom wasn’t far behind as he eventually called it a night with $95k in profit. It was a very small session by Blom’s standards as he only played 559 hands.
Almost all of Isildur1’s winnings last night came from thrashing diggidave in a series of heads-up matches.
1II|1II|1iI| (+$80k), L0ve2playU (+$59k) and PimpyLimpy (+$44k) all made their way into the top five winners on PokerStars last night.
Meanwhile diggidave was feeling the pain of his heads-up session against Isildur1 as he was tagged for a total of $145k, making him the biggest loser of the evening.
The loss represents a massive chunk of his profit as he was only up $216k on the year prior to last night. On the other hand the account has only been active on PokerStars since October so variance could be catching up with him.
Randy “nanonoko” Lew continued to flounder in the high stakes games last night. He lived up to the nanonoko name by playing 2,978 hands but ended up dropping a total of $71k.
Lew has dropped nearly $200k since the end of November, which ironically was about the time he won APPT Macau for $484k.
ImagineKing (-$60k), LuckyGump (-$59k) and Nussdorf (-$46k) all hit the top five losers list.
