You might be surprised that over the last two WSOPs in Las Vegas players from the U.S. have lost more cash than the rest of the other counties combined.
Instead new poker powers Germany, the United Kingdom and even Australia have ascended to the top of the charts with huge profits and sparkling ROI numbers.
That’s not to say the United States isn’t home to some of the best poker players in the world (they’ve also won nearly $280 million) but their ROI leaves a lot to be desired at -11.45%.
It’s not as bad as say Italy, which has a less-than-ideal -42.44% but it’s nothing like the Czech Republic, which achieved an astounding 787% ROI with 257 players.
Of course many of the countries' ROI received a serious boost from big Main Event results such as Martin Staszko for the Czech Republic and Pius Heinz for Germany.
