Any tips or ideas for a forthcoming 3-Bet, feel free to drop a note in the comments.
Today in the 3-Bet we find the final stages of Ray Bitar's financial dismantling getting underway, PokerStars pro Eugene Katchalov showing the dramatic results of hard labor and high-stakes heavyweight Ben Tollerene showing what it takes to come back from a $1.7 million shellacking.
1) The Financial Dismantling of Ray Bitar
According to Dave Behr over at Flushdraw.com, the official forfeiture order against Ray Bitar was filed in court yesterday to begin the final razing stages of his fallen FTP-born empire.
The $40m in seizures covers everything from personal bank accounts and properties to ownership interest in a Hollywood production company and an online poker HUD software provider.
According to Behr the final tally is:
18 bank accounts across Europe and the U.S. 9 equity investments Ownership interest in 24 FTP-related entities. 7 properties including his $3m mansion in California, homes in Cali and Indiana and a $400k golf timeshare in Bermuda.Small consolation for everyone in the US STILL waiting for their FTP money, but still. There’s also the matter of Bitar’s impending heart transplant, if you’re looking for a real final slap in the face.

2) Eugene Katchalov: From Bear to Beast
Think a dedicated exercise program and diet won’t make a massive life difference in a relatively short time frame? Check what it's done for PokerStars pro Eugene Katchalov:
This is what meeting Lincon has done for me.Left is about 2-3 years old...Right is from 2 months ago in Brazil. twitter.com/EugeneKatchalo…
— Eugene Katchalov (@EugeneKatchalov) April 24, 2013Granted he's had a world-class personal trainer at his disposal for the better part of those two years, but it's still an impressive turnaround.
Leave it to noted poker malcontent Allen Bari to add the proper perspective, however:
.@eugenekatchalov beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. I think you look much hotter on the left
— Allen Bari (@allenbari) April 24, 20133) Tollerene Drops $1.7m to Isildur; Doesn’t Blink
If you follow online poker at all you’ll likely remember a couple of weeks ago when Viktor “Isildur1” Blom went on a 6-hour tear against Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene and scorched him for $1.7 million.
What you might have missed however (as we did) is the day after that session Tollerene and Blom played again and Tollerene won most of his money back in the next 24 hours.
Incredible feats on both sides of the table. And even more proof that if you think the only difference between you and the guys who play high stakes is the stakes, you're a fool.
How did Tollerene keep from an epic tilt? An unwavering calmness and determination, he told CardPlayer.com:
“I was playing very well the night I lost $1.7 million,” Tollerene said. “I had a few moments of intense stress but they faded quickly, and I continued to execute and play my best."
After busting his account Tollerene quit for the day instead of reloading. He took a rest, stuck to his routine and came back ready:
“I did my daily routine; I worked out, had dinner with Phil [Galfond], studied my game plan, and so on,” Tollerene said. “I am very proud of myself for how I handled that loss."
It’s a great look inside one of the game’s best minds. Check it out here.
