The two men, Tyler Schrier and Keith James Hudson, were sentenced to prison terms yesterday, according to an article by Reuters.

The extortion scheme occurred in the fall of 2010 with Schrier and Hudson threatening to post naked photos and private emails if Sebok and the other victims didn’t pay hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Sebok claimed that he and other victims saw their lives “altered and shattered in irreparable ways” by the crime. He also maintained it hurt his ability to earn a living as a poker pro.

"In short, I was no longer able to maintain my then-current level of participation in the poker industry, representing the brands that I had been previously, as well as greatly destroying my ability to do so with new companies moving forward," Sebok said, according to U.S. Attorney spokesman Thom Mrozek.

Hudson, Schrier to Spend Years in Prison

Schrier and Hudson opted to plead guilty in the case. Schrier was sentenced to 42 months in prison while Hudson will do two years.

Prosecutors said that prior to the Sebok case, Schrier extorted more than $26,000 from poker pros in exchange for not revealing their online poker activities.

Ryder Finney, a third defendant, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy in connection with the scheme. He will be sentenced later this year in Philadelphia.
