Kicking off March 13 at the Enjoy Casino & Resort in Viña del Mar, Chile, the upcoming season of the LAPT features six locations across Latin America, culminating in a $2,500 Grand Final in Uruguay November 13.

This will mark the fourth time the LAPT has visited Chile with the season-opener offering nine events including a $1,100 main event and a $5,000 High Roller.

Last year 672 players entered the main event, a growing popularity the tournament will look to build on this year.

“It’s amazing how fast the LAPT has grown in the past few years and the most exciting thing is that it continues to expand,” said Team PokerStars Pro and former LAPT champ Leo Fernandez.

“The organization, the well thought out buy-in levels, the prestige and the experience that all professional and amateur players bring to the LAPT makes this tour better and better, year after year.”

Fernandez to Defend Title in Panama

Fernandez won LAPT Panama in season five and is looking forward to defending his title in a few months.

“I’m happy that the tour I love to play will return to Panama, where I felt great excitement not only from winning the event, but also because I was able to share the experience with friends and people I love,” he said.

“There is a unique atmosphere of love and support from everyone involved in LAPT events that you cannot find elsewhere.”

Player experience is something the LAPT has focused on since its inception in 2008, and it's something LAPT President David Carrion is still making a priority.

“Season 6 will build on last year’s growth and return to the same cities, adding stability for poker and the LAPT brand in the region,” said Carrion.

"Season 6 will focus on delivering an excellent poker experience to players at all skill levels.”
