Following in the footsteps of Rush Poker on Full Tilt and Zoom Poker on PokerStars, PartyPoker now joins the growing group of operators boasting their own brand of speed poker.

By giving players the option to fold instantly and be moved to a new table, FastForward Poker promises four times as many hands as traditional poker. FastForward Poker is currently available at stakes from $0.02/$0.04 to $0.25/$0.50 at both six-max and heads-up tables.

“FastForward Poker is here to stay!” announced PartyPoker in a blog post on September 3rd.

“Thursday the 6th of September will be a day long remembered as we’ll be taking down that old beta sign and putting it back into PartyPoker storage ready for our next fantastic idea."

A Four-Part Plan to Return PartyPoker to Growth

Speed poker has exploded in popularity since Full Tilt’s first-to-market product went live in early 2010 and bwin.party is banking on that popularity to help turn around PartyPoker losses reflected in their recent 2012 half-year report.

“Poker is a key area of focus and we are determined to return it to growth through execution of a detailed plan that includes pooling our poker liquidity as well as repositioning our flagship PartyPoker brand,” said the report.

“We expect both initiatives to have a positive impact on our performance, along with our recently launched FastForward Poker product,” it continued.

bwin.party co-CEOs Jim Ryan and Norbert Teufelberger described the company’s four-part plan in more detail in an interview late last month.

“So I mentioned the four-point plan,” said Ryan. “And quickly, again, that’s improving the poker ecology, innovating the poker product, integrating our poker networks, and then re-launching the PartyPoker brand.”

Ryan went on to categorize FastForward Poker as a key part of the innovation included in that plan, which will culminate with a full product relaunch next year.
