The first ISPT event – the €20-million guaranteed tournament at Wembley Stadium – is set to take place May 31-June 6, 2013.
“As a poker player, I have to be associated with such an enormous event,” Trickett said. “Being part of this tournament means being part of the history of poker.”
Trickett has been one of the hottest players in poker over the last two years with over $14 million in winnings including notable victories at the Partouche Poker Tour, Aussie Millions Super High Roller and the Party Poker World Open.
Most recently Trickett placed second in the $1 million buy-in BIG ONE for ONE DROP for a staggering $10 million.
The ISPT is unusual in the poker world as the first stage will take place online in the stadium stands with players on their own laptops.
As the tournament continues players will eventually move down to actual tables in the middle of the arena.
The event will also have a unique buy-in structure that starts at €600 for online players, €1,200 for online plus an add-on/rebuy and finally €6,000 for anyone who wants to buy in directly to the live portion of the tournament.
Trickett joins Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi as an ambassador for the ISPT.
The ISPT also recently received a live event license to use Wembley Stadium for the event.
