The WSOPC event in L.A. will take place Jan. 1-12, 2012, with 12 official ring events on the schedule. The $1,600 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em main event will take place Jan. 10-12.
Despite a huge poker community in L.A. the WSOPC event at the Bike marks the first time that Caesars Entertainment has offered a WSOP-branded tournament in the area.
““The process of bringing the World Series of Poker to Los Angeles has been a long time in the making, and we are very pleased with the finalization of our partnership,” said Hashem Minaiy, the Bike’s Managing Partner and CEO. “Players have wanted to play a WSOP event in L.A. where poker has always been king, and the Bicycle Casino is considered a key venue for players worldwide.”
The Bicycle Casino and the Commerce Casino are arguably the two most well-known casinos for poker players in Californian and have both played host to some of the biggest tournaments in the world.
The fifth stop of this year’s WSOPC is currently underway in Lake Tahoe with the main event final table to take place later today.
The 2011/12 WSOPC now includes 17 official stops and every one of them counts towards the $1 million National Championship freeroll, which will take place at the 2012 WSOP at the Rio in Las Vegas.
