At the dinner break only two tables and 15 players remained with Robert Salaburu, Jacob Balsiger and Scott Abrams amongst the chip leaders.
There are still two females in the field although both are getting low in chips. Norwegian Elisabeth Hille has 8.8 million while Gaelle Baumann has 3,550,000.
German Nicco Maag was the first player to bust on Day 7 when he shoved ace-jack into Russell Thomas’ ace-queen.
Right behind Maag was fellow German Jan Heitmann who was one of the biggest players left in the tournament. Heitmann made an ill-timed shove with pocket sixes and got called down by Daniel Strelitz with eights.
Noted mixed-game pro Yuval Bronshtein lost a coinflip for his tournament life when his ace-queen failed against pocket jacks. Bronshtein crashed out in 23rd place for $294,601.
Sick Hand Sees Jesse Sylvia Nail Exciting Double Up
Perhaps the most notable hand yet to be played on Day 7 occurred when short-stack Jesse Sylvia got all in with pocket aces against Greg Merson’s queen-ten of clubs.
Merson got lucky to turn a flush but Sylvia got even luckier to river a full house to secure the all-important double up.
Percy Mahatan was the latest player to bust when his pocket queens failed against Robert Salaburu’s turned two-pair.
Action resumes in the massive tournament at 8 p.m. with blinds of 100,000/200,000 with 30,000 ante. Check our WSOP live updates section for the most recent news on the tournament.
