Jachtmann, the founder of German poker magazine POKERBLATT, has been playing cards for over two decades but this was only his second cash at the WSOP.

“It was a dream to even make the final table,” said Jachtmann. “This is great.”

The first bracelet winner from Germany at the 2012 WSOP, Jachtmann took part in a rapid-fire final day of the $10k PLO that took less than six hours to go from 13 players to a winner.

There were numerous pros in the final 13 including Jason Mercier, Andrew Brown and Ville Wahlbeck but no one seemed more dangerous than old-school pro Sammy Farha.

Farha is widely considered to be one of the best PLO players in poker history and momentum and one of the biggest stacks in the final 13.

Jachtmann ended up making a great call against Farha to bust the noted pro in 11th place.

“The crazy thing is Sammy Farha is one of my absolute idols,” Jachtmann said. “I didn’t tell him before, but I wanted to tell him later. You don’t just go up and say ‘Hey, you’re my idol' while a final table is still being played."

Jachtmann never looked back after busting Farha and cruised for most of the final table. Mercier went out in eight place for $72,132. Heads-up against Andrew Brown was over in a hurry as Jachtmann quickly overwhelmed the young pro.

Brown received a $408,393 consolation prize for finishing in second.

A part-time poker player, Jachtmann is returning to Hamburg, Germany, tomorrow to continue his day job as publisher of POKERBLATT.

“I will write something about this tournament too,” laughed Jachtmann.
