It’s arguably the most famous tournament in the history of online poker but PokerStars is taking the Sunday Million on the road.
The first-ever Sunday Million Live will take place Aug. 24-Sept. 4, 2017, at King’s Casino in Rozvadov in the Czech Republic. Players have the option of playing Day 1 online or live.
The buy-in will be a familiar €220 (adjusted slightly for the Euro) but it will also offer an enticing €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
That means the eventual winner will walk away with solid return on their investment, which definitely sounds like the online version of the tournament.
Sunday 500, Warm-Up Also on Schedule
The Sunday Million is not the only Sunday Major that’s getting the live tournament treatment.
The €220 buy-in Sunday Million Warm-Up and the €500 buy-in Sunday Million 500 will also be coming along for the ride along with a handful of other small events created just for the occasion including a €400 PLO tournament.
“The Sunday Million Live is a great addition to PokerStars’ rich and varied live events calendar, blending the best of our online and live poker offerings to create a truly unique and exciting event,” said David Curtis, Live Events Manager, Europe at PokerStars.
“We’re looking forward to once again partnering with King’s Casino and welcoming many of our live and online players to Rozvadov in August and anticipate a fantastic event for all.”
Rozvadov has already proven to be a successful venue for PokerStars as it held a record-break festival there earlier this year.
As you might expect there are already online qualifiers running for all the Sunday Million Live events and it’s possible to qualify for as little as €2.20.
In addition there are still plenty of chances to play Day 1 of the Sunday Million Live online if you choose.
Crack Some Chests, Qualify for Sunday Million Live
If you’re looking to qualify for the first-ever Sunday Million Live then you’ll definitely have a lot of options on PokerStars but you’ll also get to try out the new Stars Rewards program.
PokerStars officially launched its Stars Rewards program on a global scale this week and players from around the world can now open those chests that were previewed earlier this year.
The new rewards program focuses on recreational players and gives everyone a chance to open randomized chests once they’ve generated enough points.
The chests are similar to those found in video games with randomized awards of up to $1,000 in cash.
