Phil Galfond Pummeled for $301k

The Maryland-native played 2,175 hands of high stakes PLO on PokerStars against usual suspects like Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, LuckyGump and Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky.

Galfond simply couldn’t get anything going and after losing a very long series of moderately-sized pots, finally called it quits after he had accumulated $301k in losses.

It was a marked change for Galfond, who had a blistering March that saw him go on a $1 million+ upswing that erased his massive $434k in losses on PokerStars.

Where Galfond faltered, David “Deldar182” Eldar picked the slack.

The Australian online pro hasn’t been particularly active this year but exploded on PokerStars over the weekend.

Eldar played over 11 hours yesterday and recorded 3,357 hands over the weekend. Eldar played with all the big guns including Isildur1, Ilari Sahamies, Fake Love888 and Jeans89.

Apparently Eldar wasn’t intimidated as the young pro finished with $343k in profit over the weekend.

Some of the other notable winners over the weekend included Alexander “Kanu7” Millar (+$208k), Phisherman36 (+$202k), Ben "Ben86" Tollerene (+$147k) and Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies (+$137k).

Galfond was the biggest loser but he had some respectable company as Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen dropped $204k.

Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser (-$203k), Zypherin (-$188k) and takechip (-$147k) rounded out the top five losers.
