Blom had been strangely absent from the high stakes games over the last week but he made up for lost time by firing off 3,837 hands on PokerStars.
The young Swede started small, at the $25/$50 level, eventually moving on to heads-up $50/$100 against Sauce123.
From there Isildur1 moved right to the highest stakes games running - $100/$200 at the time - where he played 6-Max against Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen, doncarignano, MaiseE, Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond and mTw-DaviN.
Blom won at virtually every level he played last night and by the time he finally shut down for the evening had picked up an astounding $577k.
To put Blom’s feat in perspective, Alexey “LuckyGump” Makarov was the next biggest winner and he only accumulated $156k.
It was actually a much-needed win for Blom, who has struggled online this year. Prior to last night Blom was down over $600k on the year but he’s now within $90k of pulling even.
Of course Blom did win the 2012 PCA Super High Roller for $1.3 million so his year hasn’t been all bad.
Galfond, Makarov Survive Isildur1 Onslaught
No one came close to matching Blom’s output last night but as mentioned above LuckyGump came out of the bloodbath smelling like roses with a $156k victory.
Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond also had a good night picking up $87k in 4,639 hands.
Galfond has played very well since returning from his self-imposed break from the high stakes games. The Maryland-native still has some work to do as he’s down $346k on the year.
IFINishfish (+$80k) and Tsubi87 (+$35k) also slid their way into the top five winners last night.
Meanwhile MaiseE was the big donator last night as he lost a total of $284k. It was one of the biggest losses yet for the unidentified Swedish pro but he retains a profit of $863k on the year.
Jens Kyllonen, who has been red hot lately, finally recorded a loss dumping a total of $198k into the high stakes games.
Doncarignano (-$173k), bernard-bb (-$125k) and mTw-DaviN (-$109k) rounded out the top five biggest losers last night.
