1) Brazil Bans People from Playing Online Poker in Public
Remember all those slick PokerStars ads that showed Jason Mercier, Rafael Nada, Liv Boeree, Ronaldo, Neymar and the rest of the PokerStars crew playing online poker in public on their mobile devices.
They might have done their job a bit too well, at least in Brazil.
According to CardsChat and a few other sources Brazil has decided to ban online poker in public areas as part of a new gambling law.
That means any player who is caught using their mobile device to play will face stiff fines and potentially jail time.
It remains to be seen how the law will be enforced as it’s difficult for most people to quickly the difference between poker and any other free-to-play mobile game.
2) Tim James Show Goes After Sheldon Adelson
If you’re a poker fan there’s a good chance you already don’t care for gambling mogul Sheldon Adelson and his ongoing campaign against online poker.
If not, just take a look at this Tim James Show clip and prepare to have your blood boil.
In the clip Tim James goes to the Venetian (one of Adelson’s properties) and proves that a minor can gamble, play poker and drink without ever showing ID.
The only thing the minor couldn’t do? Sign up for an online poker account. The strict age-verification protection built into the software locked the minor out.

Did you know Daniel Negreanu moonlights as a successful rapper called “Kid MCD”?
