It has become a very welcome tradition to start off each new European Poker Tour season in the Catalonian capital and 2015 will see that tradition continue.
With the stop in London now off the schedule Barcelona is also now the only place that has been on the EPT schedule every single year.
It’s always a highlight and one of the largest events of the season. The 12th season of the European Poker Tour is about to start and the final satellites are running soon.
71 Events in 13 Days
This year's combined Estrellas Poker Tour/EPT festival will incorporate 71 events into 13 days from August 18-30. A few of the highlight tournaments on the calendar:
August 19-24 -- €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour NLHE main event
Aug 20 -- €5,300 8-Game; one day event
Aug 22-24 -- €50,000 NLHE Super High Roller event, unlimited re-entry
Aug 24-30 -- €5,300 No-Limit Hold'em EPT Barcelona main event
Aug 28-30 -- €10,300 NLHE High Roller event, single re-entry
Starting on Day 2 of the main event - Aug 26 - action will be live streamed from Barcelona. As always James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton will provide commentary supported by a number of professional players and poker experts.
On the final day the stream will be delayed one hour to enable showing the hole cards. Broadcast starts at 1 PM.
Satellite Information
The final satellites for the EPT Barcelona main event will run on PokerStars next Wednesday, Aug 12.
In addition to the satellites that offer “seat only” and “complete packages” there are now also “seat & expenses” packages which offer the main event buy-in plus €700 travel costs.
Satellites will run all weekend as well with buy-ins starting at €1. All starting times are CET.

Players Party at Club Danzatoria
If you do get a seat in the EPT main event you’ll have access to the players’ party on Aug. 23 at Club Danzatoria, right around the corner from the casino.
There’s also plenty of action along the four kilometer Barcelona beach. Every day the EPT offers activities take place in close vicinity to the casino, run several times a day, and take between 15 and 30 minutes.
Among the highlights are jetski or jetboat rides, banana boats, fly fishing and crazy sofas.
