
Hastings, who was accused of multi-accounting earlier this summer, has been on fire in the Main Event and looks to have a top-five chip stack.
Amar Anand is the over-night chip leader with 1.1 million. German online all-star Fedor Holz just missed the million-chip mark with 994,000.
There are still plenty of big name players left in the tournament including Daniel Negreanu who finished with 444,000 chips and Phil Hellmuth with 170,500.
The night ended with 661 players still in the hunt for poker’s ultimate prize.
1,000 Players Make it into the Money
The money bubble was relatively painless this year with only two hands played in hand-for-hand.
It still took nearly 45 minutes since players were spread out between Amazon and Brasilia and the entire process had to be coordinated carefully.
In the end Roy Daoud was the ultimate bubble boy but ended up winning a seat to next year’s WSOP Main Event thanks to a promotion by Black Clover apparel.
Action resumes at noon tomorrow in Las Vegas as we get ever closer to the final table.
