In today’s WSOP 3-Bet we’ll take a look at an amazing victory by a high-school coach, Phil Hellmuth having the time of his life and Olivier Busquet questioning the etiquette of plugging a sponsor.

Even Dominik Nitsche couldn't slow down Jeffrey Tomlinson

The WSOP is for everyone.

That’s the idea behind the biggest live poker series in the world and we got to see it first-hand this weekend when a Florida high school football coach named Jefferey Tomlinson outlasted all 493 players in the $5,000 NLHE 8-Handed event to win $567,724.

Obviously the event had a much more difficult level of competition compared to the lower buy-in tournaments at the WSOP but that didn’t seem to bother Tomlinson.

Tomlinson beat a final table that included seasoned pros Dominik Nitsche (third), Jonathan Little (sixth) and Dan O’Brien (eighth).

Tomlinson said a good portion of his winnings would go towards putting his daughters through college.

2) Phil Hellmuth Skips WSOP for NBA Finals

Everything is coming up Phil Hellmuth these days.

Hot off winning his record 14th WSOP bracelet Hellmuth took a quick trip up to Oakland to watch his Golden State Warriors win game five of the NBA Finals last night.

Hellmuth got some seriously good seats too as he appeared to be courtside (gifted by the Warrior's owner no less).

At the top of the page you can see a photo of Hellmuth’s prime location on the court but below is a shot of Doc Sands and The Poker Brat chatting it up with Steph Curry who has a nice “Who IS this guy again?” expression on his face.

With the Golden State Warriors now on the brink of an NBA championship and 14 bracelets in the bag it’s becoming quite the summer for Hellmuth.

3) Phil Hellmuth Victory Speech Grinds Olivier Busquet’s Gears

OK, maybe not everything is coming up Phil Hellmuth… Olivier Busquet didn’t exactly love how Hellmuth immediately thanked his sponsor Aria after winning his 14th bracelet.

A simple Tweet from Busquet kicked off a minor firestorm between poker pros about the etiquette for bracelet-winning speeches and sponsors.

If you love Internet bickering then you’ll love this diversion:

Did this guy really just thank his sponsor??

— Olivier Busquet (@olivierbusquet) June 13, 2015

@olivierbusquet Makes good business sense to thank them by name like he did with Aria.

— Andy Frankenberger (@AMFrankenberger) June 13, 2015

@AMFrankenberger maybe, but I found it inappropriate and disrespectful to use that moment/opportunity to make a shrewd business decision

— Olivier Busquet (@olivierbusquet) June 13, 2015

@olivierbusquet Phil thanking his sponsor can only help the possibility of some other poor schmuck getting a sponsorship in poker.

— Matt Glantz (@MattGlantz) June 14, 2015

@olivierbusquet @msalsberg you're so wrong about this. I've witnessed random nobodies get a chance to speak this year.

— Jared Hamby (@TWKftw) June 14, 2015

@TWKftw random nobodies lol - what is wrong with people

— Olivier Busquet (@olivierbusquet) June 14, 2015

@olivierbusquet the true tragedy was he didn't thank Carl's jr

— Jason Les (@heyitscheet) June 13, 2015

Oh I remember why I stopped using Twitter
