In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Josh Arieh dominating, Phil Ivey’s absence at the WSOP and the next big-field small buy-in tournament.
1) Arieh Leads Stacked $10k PLH Championship
No one ever retires from poker, they just reload.
Josh Arieh has said he’s done with poker multiple times only to keep coming back to the well.
Arieh surged to the chip lead in the incredibly tough $10,000 PLH championship on Day 1 yesterday. The Atlanta native picked up 168,900 chips.
As expected the tournament brought out a murderer’s row of skilled pros but with only 128 entrants it also represents one of the smallest fields to get through at this year’s WSOP.

2) Phil Ivey Still MIA at 2015 WSOP
We’re already 16 events into the 2015 WSOP and there’s one major name who’s still missing from the jam-packed Rio.
We talk of course about Phil Ivey.
It’s not really a surprise as it was rumored Ivey was planning on staying it Macau for a significant portion of the series.
The WSOP isn’t quite the same without Ivey, however. The 2012 WSOP was one of the exciting series in recent memory because Ivey made a staggering five final tables
So what’s Ivey been up to? Well you’d imagine he’s playing some high-stakes cash in Macau but he also found time to officially open the new Poker King Room in the Venetian. He also lost over $300k this week playing online poker.
So maybe it’s time to return to Vegas? Please?
3) Get Ready: Millionaire Maker Incoming
Missed out on the massive 22,374-player Colossus but still looking for a low buy-in huge event?
You’re in luck.
Day 1a of the $1,000 buy-in Millionaire Maker started earlier today at 10 a.m. but there’s still plenty of time to get in on the action today or tomorrow.
There’s a good chance you’ll also win more money for defeating less players compared to the Colossus if the event goes anything like last year.
Jonathan Dimmig bested 7,977 players to win an astounding $1.3 million at the 2014 WSOP.
According to Ty Stewart there are already 3,000 players registered for Day 1a of the Millionaire Maker, which is a pretty hot start.
