Any suggestions for a 3-Bet, feel free to drop a note in the comments.
Today in the 3-Bet poker agent Brian Balsbaugh explains the Pros = Joes formula, Daniel Negreanu gives us eight minutes of quality time and PokerStars teases its new speed poker product.
1) Poker Royalty’s Brian Balsbaugh Explains Pro Sponsorships
With high-end pros on its roster including Tom Dwan, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen, Patrik Antonius and Phil Hellmuth, Poker Royalty founder Brian Balsbaugh knows what he's talking about when it comes to poker sponsorship.
With older sponsorship models turned on their ear with Black Friday, Balsbaugh says one thing still holds true: a pro poker player’s sponsorship value is determined by his or her ability to bring in new customers.
And that potential is actually greater than its ever been:
"There are many different philosophies about how to attract those new players, but there is no question that one single strategy has been the most successful. Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars captured roughly 75% of the online poker market by utilizing pro poker players to generate new customers.
" ...Like Daniel (Negreanu) realized in 2001, new media platforms allow greater connectivity and ability to reach fans–and potential customers.
"With Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, it’s easier than ever for poker players to reach the masses. Because of this, the potential ROI those players can bring an online operator is also greater than it has ever been ...
"Yes, in the short-term Black Friday hurt a player’s ability to land a sponsorship deal. But in the post-apocalyptic online poker world, the pros who can attract new players will be big, big winners.

2) Negreanu Calls Ferguson Liar, Makes Brazilian Butt Slideshow
Speaking of Daniel Negreanu (and proving the point above about the power of social media) …
After last week’s much-praised vlog about bashing Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson in their special areas, Negreanu has introduced a new feature to his YouTube channel: The “Weekly Rant.”
In this one, he swings from his screw-up at the final table at the LAPT Grand Final to hanging out at Carnival to addressing Doyle Brunson’s blog in support of his FTP pals.
He also provides a slide show of butt photos he took in Brazil. As he says:
"I don't know why I was shooting butts. I'm not exactly a butt guy. But I had a friend who was apparently a Brazilian butt guy so I was sending him pictures and I thought I'd share the ones that I got with you.
"Yeah. A little odd. A little bizarre throwing in there, but that's just me in a nutshell."
Bonus points also for his FTP rant redux and his expanding editing skills. Rant below:
3) Zoom Poker Coming Soon at PokerStars
Former fans of Rush Poker take note: PokerStars’ speed-poker equivalent, called Zoom Poker, is about to debut.
For those unfamiliar with the format it’s essentially poker action injected directly into your bloodstream.
In a nutshell:
As soon as you fold your hand, you’re instantly moved to a new table with a new hand. You can “fast fold” out of turn and be playing your next hand at a different table before it even gets around to you. Repeat for 8-10 hours.Be prepared to see several hours of sleep disappear from your day.
Launch date is still uncertain but rumblings have it appearing very, very soon. Check the poker news section for updates.
