Dominating the field from the shuffle up and deal Holz was the chipleader with 15 or so players left and seemed primed to add a WPT title to his impressive career.
A double-up here, a tough fold there and a final dagger later, though, and Holz was bounced unceremoniously in 11th leaving the title wide open for the taking.
The benificiary? Greece's Konstantinos Nanos, who overcame the big chip lead of Vladimir Krastev to claim his first career WPT tile and the $157k first prize.

Despite the surprise absence of Holz the WPT Vienna final six was still nothing to sneeze at talent-wise.
EPT Deauville champion Sotirios Koutoupas, Winamax pro Gaëlle Baumann and former WPT champ Thomas Bichon were on hand but none could gain ground on Krastev, who entered the final table with a big lead.
With 55% of the chips in play four-handed it also looked like Krastev's title to lose but as it often does in poker fortunes changed in one big hand.
Getting in a pre-flop raising war with Nanos Kratsev six-bet shoved K♦ Q♦ only to be snapped off by Nanos' aces.
No help came on the board and Nanos was all of a sudden the chipleader.
Despite eliminating all of the other players at the table Krastev couldn't come back to bust Nanos heads-up and the German was the champion.
