Amazingly the Dutch player planned on hitting SuperNova Elite status on PokerStars even earlier, on Feb. 15 to be precise, but a stomach flu delayed his milestone.

According to an interview with the PokerStars blog Ardon recorded three big days to start 2015 and then, realizing he was atop the SuperNova Elite leaderboard, decided to just go for it.

It’s the fastest anyone has achieved SuperNova Elite.

Ardon Will Reap $100k in Benefits from New Status

Ardon primarily played $100 buy-in Sit & Go’s but he also mixed in $60 Spin & Go’s and Satellite Hypers.

He averaged 1,000 SNGs and 10,000 VPPs a day but there were some days he recorded more than 35,000 VPPs.

It takes a total of 1,000,000 VPPs to achieve SuperNova Elite status.

The rewards associated with hitting the prestigious status are valued at over $100,000 with packages available to the EPT, LAPT and APPT as well as special $1m freerolls that run quarterly for SuperNova players.

Last year Ryan “MouldyOnions” Bell reached SuperNova Elite in 54 days, which was a record at the time.

Will Ardon’s record stand for quite some time though?

Interestingly Ardon said he thinks it would be possible to hit SuperNova in January if you played high enough stakes and put in enough volume.

Gauntlet thrown.
