It turns out that Hansen doesn’t harbor any ill-will towards the company and admits it might have been the right time for him to leave.

After an extended break from poker Hansen did an interview with Danish poker site Pokeryhederne where he finally discussed his relationship with Full Tilt and his future in the poker industry this week.

“I’ve had a good relationship with Full Tilt,” he told Pokeryhederne.

“A good relationship, which it still is. We decided to part ways in September when my contract ended. That’s often where you part ways. Full Tilt wanted to take a different path and focus 100% on fighting their way back up next to PokerStars.”

Hansen Talks About Stepping Down in Stakes

Hansen went on to say that Viktor Blom’s contract actually lasted a little longer than his.

The timing might have something to do with why Gus Hansen was MIA for a promotional heads-up match against Blom in September.

Furthermore Hansen believes his contract ending might have been for the best considering he’d amassed considerable losses on the site.

Hansen lost over $5.5 million on Full Tilt Poker in 2014.

It doesn’t sound like Hansen will be heading back to the poker tables any time soon as he’s focused on Bridge and playing a Squash tournament in New York.

He did say he would try to make the EPT Grand Final and WSOP this summer.

As for online poker it sounds as if Hansen may be stepping down in the stakes for awhile to 2/4 or 5/10 PLO.
