A total of 736 players paid the $3,000 buy-in creating a prize pool of $1.9 million with $367,928 set aside for first place.

It’s the first time the LAPT has kicked off its year in the Bahamas and it appears to be a rather large success.

The field included Team PokerStars Pros Jonathan Duhamel, Liv Boeree, Bertrand Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov and Brazilian sports legend Ronaldo.

No one could catch former Mukul Pahuja, however, as the New Yorker amassed 244,400 chips.

Some of the other notable overnight stacks include Mustapha Kanit (228,500), Brahim Oubella (222,100) and Marvin Rettenmaier (197,600).

Action resumes at 12:00 ET today.
